Peter P. Patin

July 10, 1937 — August 2, 2023

Peter P. Patin age 86 of Cedar Springs, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Trinity Health, St. Mary’s. He was born July 10, 1937 in Ensley Township, MI, the son of Philip and Mary (Haussman) Patin. He had one of the first ultralight planes in the area and had owned and operated Harvestore business since 1974. Peter was known for many things, but what he was known for most was his complete faith in our Lord, his loving bear hugs, his mischievous twinkle in his eye, his ingenuity to be able to fix anything, his Harvestore company, and his immeasurable ability to love. You could find him over the years at the farm with his brothers, flying his Ultralight, traveling the world with Carole, enjoying the serenity at the “Damn Patin Paradise”, or at church in reverence praying for all those in his life. He had a special devotion to Our Lady. Which inspired him to join the seminary. While priesthood was not God’s calling for him he never hesitated to pull out one of his many rosaries and start praying for intersessions for any and everyone who need prayers. His works and deeds were reflections of his faith and love for those around him. While he has many accomplishments over his 86 years, one that we are proud and honored to remember was his time in the Army Reserves. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in their hugs, smiles, laughter and sarcasm. Surviving are his wife Carole, who he married on September 19, 1964; children, Timothy Patin, Theresa (Daniel) Simon, Edward Patin; grandchildren, Victoria (Nathaniel) Post, Olivia Simon (fiance, Matthew Kazyak), Joseph Simon; great granddaughters, Leanne and Annabelle; brother, Fred (MaryLynn) Patin; sister-in-law, Donna Dunaven; brother-in-law, Dennis (Margaret) Leiber; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Simon; siblings, John (Rosie) Patin, Joseph (Ruth) Patin, Anthony (Patricia) Patin, Alphonso Patin; Margaret (Henry) Kalman, Sr. Mary Phillip Patin, OFM, Sr. Mary Phyllis Patin, OFM, Mary Lou Patin.
