Patrick A. Nielsen age 62 of Naples, FL passed away Monday, March 31, 2025 in Florida. He was born August 23, 1962 in Greenville, MI the son of Alger and June (Krebs) Nielsen. Pat graduated from Cedar Springs High School and owned and operated Nielsen Service Center in Cedar Springs for 10 years. That led him into a 10 year career in sales working for Keller Ford. From there, he moved to “live where you vacation” where he started and ran a handyman business in Marco Island, FL for 20 years. There was never anything Pat could not fix. Not only was he a family man, but his clients were a part of chosen family. No matter where he was, no one was a stranger to Pat. He could be across the country and still find someone he knew. No one lived life to the fullest like Pat, especially when it came to something with a motor. It didn’t matter what it was, if it had a motor, he would take it for a spin. In addition to his love for motors, he loved giving back to his community. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge and a charter member and patron of the Eagles (FOE). His motto was to stay humble and kind, and every good act will always be paid forward. It didn’t matter what he had going on, he was the person that would stop on the side of the road to fix a transmission for a friend he hadn’t met yet. Every room he walked in he would draw everyone's attention with his smile and never ending positivity. Surviving are his wife, Tresa (Longcore); children, Tia (Kyle) Nielsen, Steven (Delaney) Nielsen; siblings, James (Victoria) Nielsen, Peggy (Gary, dec’d) Hansen, Suzy (Gary) Levy, Debby (James) Gingrich, Ellie (Ric, dec’d) Bohms, Richard (Mary Ellen) Nielsen, Lori (Kevin) Goodyke; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Dunn. A celebration of life will be held at the Cedar Springs American Legion on Saturday, May 17 from 12:00 – 3:00 pm. Please stop by to join us in a Nielsen toast and have a Captain and Coke in his honor.
