Patricia Anne Marek

Ms. Patricia (Patti) Anne Marek, age 70, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Matthew (Tracey) and Brian (Mary); her grandchildren, Cameron, Reese, Mason, Lillian and Madeline; her siblings, Kevin (Artisha) O’Rourke, Julia (Harry) Lillis, Maureen (Tom) Rutka, Tim (Mary Beth) O’Rourke, Sheila (Brian) Dent; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucy Ellen O’Rourke, and her brother, Dennis O’Rourke.

She worked many jobs over her life before retiring from a long career with General Motors.

She deeply loved her big Irish family, lying in the sunshine with a Diet Coke in hand any chance she got, but most of all, her children and her grandchildren were her world. You could always find her in the stands cheering them on for any school or sporting event. She was their loudest and proudest cheerleader.

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, May 2 at 11:00 am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Belmont, where the family will receive visitors one hour prior to the Mass. The Mass will be livestreamed on the Assumption BVM Facebook page. A link to the livestream can be accessed at www.facebook.com/assumptionbvmchurch. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
