Orvel A. Weeks

Orvel A. Weeks, 80 of Custer, died Monday, September 6, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center, Ludington. Mr. Weeks was born March 21, 1930 in Boyne City, MI. He retired from Alofs Manufacturing and was a union leader with the AFL-CIO. He loved snowmobiling and dune buggies. Surviving are 4 children, Calvin Weeks & Shirley Rork of Hesperia, Karen Weeks & Sue Mason of Grand Rapids, Orvel & Judy Weeks of Wayland, Cindy Harris & Todd Dancz of Custer; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Ed Weeks, Gordon Stanley, Gerald Green, Junior Dressler, William Weeks; sister, Eleanor Tudor; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Arlene in 2006; 1 brother and 3 sisters. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Friday 11:00 am. Pastor Steve Batchelder officiating.
