Odessa E. Baldwin

Odessa E. Baldwin of Grand Ledge, MI, born August 14, 1919, the daughter of Letcher and Eva Gilliland, went into eternal rest on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the age of 89. She will be remembered for her generosity, joy and love of life. Odessa was loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed. She married Elmer M. Baldwin on August 6, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded by an infant son, Furl; a step-granddaughter, Sherry; 1 brother and 3 sisters. Odessa is survived by her children, Bertun (Nila), Delmar (Jean), Charles (Darlene) and Arlene Baldwin; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Melvin Gilliland; 1 sister, Opal Knowles; and numerous other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. A graveside service will be held Wednesday 11:00 am at Pierson Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Pierson Bible Church, 101 W. Grand St., Pierson. Memorials may be made to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 S.
