Nathalie VanOost

Nathalie VanOost, age 91, of Pierson, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in Big Rapids, Michigan.

She was born on August 17, 1934, in Casnovia, Michigan, the daughter of Elza and Thelma (Shue) Egolf. Nathalie had a lifelong love for animals, especially dogs, and found great joy in feeding and watching the birds.


In her younger years, Nathalie worked on the family farm. She later was employed at National Fruit, where she worked until her retirement. Her retirement years were spent surrounded by family, enjoying time at their home on the lake and taking several camping trips.

She is survived by her children, Ted Baehre and Jill Warner; her stepdaughters, Lois Sweet, Carol Train, Kay (Roger) Coalter, and Luann (Mike) Earle; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Baehre and Adrian VanOost; her son, Darrell Baehre; and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Baehre.

A joint service honoring Nathalie and her son, Darrell Baehre, will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at K.E. Pike Funeral Home in Cedar Springs, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Roger Coalter will lead a prayer service. Interment will take place at Pierson Cemetery.
