Naida R. Schillim, 61 of Sand Lake, slipped away peacefully at home on Monday, June 19, 2006 surrounded by her family. Naida was born October 21, 1944 in Kent City, MI the daughter of Donald and Lois (Smith) Flintoff. She was an “Amazing Mom” who touched everyone she knew and always found the good in others. You can’t say, “cancer beat her,” she lived life to the end. Surviving are her husband Henry; 3 children, Holly & Michael Kane of Flower Mound, TX, Matthew Schillim & Lisa Vaghn of Comstock Park, David & Julie Schillim of Grand Rapids; 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Margaret Naida and Emily Mary; 2 brothers, Donald Flintoff of Okemos, Wyman & Sharon Flintoff of Rockford; 1 sister, Darlys Leonard of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Joseph Flintoff. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Friday 11:00 am. Pastor Carolyn Wharton officiating. Interment Pierson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sand Lake United Methodist Ladies Group.
