Michael A. Merritt

Michael A. Merritt age 79 of Cedar Springs passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Corewell Health Butterworth Campus. He was born July 31, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Wesley and Emily (Clark) Merritt. He was a retired veteran having served in both the U.S. Navy and Air Force. He loved John Wayne movies, puzzles and his pets. Surviving are his children, Dawn (James) Pickett, Tina (Paul) Sanchez, Scott (Samantha) Merritt, Angela (John) Sanchez; 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Dale) Weber; brother, Fred Merritt. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ardist Merritt; grandson, Alex; brothers, Wesley (Sandra) Merritt, Richard Merritt; sister-in-law, Mary Merritt. The family will greet friends Tuesday, February 3 from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at The Springs Church, 135 N. Grant St. Cedar Springs. Pastor J.D. Van Valin officiating.
