Michael R. Luce

Michael R. Luce, 47 of Sand Lake, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at St. Mary’s Health Center, after a short, but valiant fight with cancer, surrounded by his family. Mike was born March 20, 1965 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Clifford and Marlene (Gilbert) Luce. He was employed at Nashville Construction. He was a very hard working, cheerful person, who enjoyed making people laugh. He was always willing to help his family and friends and was a fantastic father and husband. Surviving are his wife, Betty; children, Joshua Luce and his fiancée, Amelia Pylman, Cecelia McKinney and her fiancé, Jeremy Wolgamogg, Zachary Carpentier, Kourtney Luce, Brandon Luce; 1 granddaughter, Cerenity Ann Beavers; sisters, Delores (Gary) Moss, Patricia (John) VanWagner, Susan (Ken) Page; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Betty would like to thank all of the family and friends for their support, you have been a blessing. A memorial service will be held Friday 6:00 pm at Pierson Bible Church, 101 Grand St., Pierson. Pastor Thomas Sluys officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the Christian Ministries Building until 9:00 pm. A benefit will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 1-6 pm at the Big Rapids Eagles to help the family with expenses. Arrangements by Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
