After struggling with MS for 43 years, Michael Finian Donahue, age 64 of Grand Rapids, Michigan, said, “My one wish is to see Jesus face to face.” His desire was granted to him on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Mike was born January 3, 1956 in Chicago, IL, along with his twin brother, Timothy Xavier, the sons of William and Florence (Jenkinson) Donahue. Mike attended Kendall School of Art & Design where he met his wife, Margaret (DeGraw). Drawing was a passion in his life and he was a most excellent artist. He continued to develop his drawing ability as a digital artist due to physical disabilities and made adjustments with computer aided design, eventually using only a mouth stick. Mike exhibited several times at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and many of his original artworks were purchased by the hospital. Mike touched many lives with his love for Jesus, his warmth, compassion, listening ear of caring, his love of laughter and desire to brighten the hearts of others. Among his Dearest of Friends was Jim Rozeboom, also his boss, with whom he spent many hours praying, worshiping, and laughing, Frank Bross, who visited often and his brother Tim, who gave much of his time in Mike’s last days. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Margaret; children, David (Cara) Donahue, Emily Donahue; siblings, Kevin Donahue, Tim (Anna) Donahue, Mary Barry, Patty (Mitch) Smit, Kathleen (Jeff) Sturgeon, Jim (Brenda Sipe) Donahue, Bridget (Walter) Winther; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Donahue.
