Merrill Maurer

Merrill Maurer age 80 of Sand Lake, died Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home. Merrill was born April 14, 1942 in Croton, MI the son of Norman and Ruth (Tawney) Maurer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Merrill was a barber in Howard City from 1962 – 2019. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and very involved in his church, Resurrection Lutheran in Sand Lake. Surviving are his wife, Constance, whom he married on April 19, 1969; daughter and her fiance, Darci Maurer and John Biedzynski; special daughter and grandchildren, Jenny Ketelar and Joshua, Katelyn and Tytan; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Danielle Moore and stepson, Donald. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 17 at 1:00 pm at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 180 Northland Dr., Sand Lake. A luncheon will follow the service at church. Private family interment at Pierson Cemetery. Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
