View Photo Tribute Melvin S. Gillespie, 89 of Cedar Springs, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Mr. Gillespie was born October 4, 1918 in Caledonia, MI the son of Sherman and Ethel (Pritchard) Gillespie. Surviving are two children, Lynn (Charlene) Gillespie of Sand Lake, Joan Weinrich of Cedar Springs; two grandchildren, Connie (Kim) Smith of Cedar Springs, Jeffrey Gillespie of Sand Lake; several great and great great grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (Thelma) Gillespie of Cedar Springs; one brother-in-law, Harry Wickham of Stanton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith in 2005; a daughter, Sandra Kay Gillespie; 2 sisters, Margaret Wickham and Lavonna Hefner The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Wednesday 11:00 am. Pastor Dick Riley officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Metron of Cedar Springs Activity Fund or Hospice of Michigan.
