Melode Mae LaHuis age 70 of Pierson, entered into her heavenly home, Saturday, June 6, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 5, 1955 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Raymond and Carolyn (Rosekopf) Peck. Melode graduated from Grandville High School in 1973. She had a passion for music. Melode enjoyed playing her mandolin. She was an avid Elvis fan, listening to his music and collecting his memorabilia. Melode was a world traveler; traveling to Europe several times and all over the United States. She loved to be outdoors camping, living on Bass Lake and cruising on her boat. Melode was an animal lover and cared for many throughout her life. She loved being a grandmother and will be missed by all who loved her.
Melode is survived by her children, Cody LaHuis, Cassandra (Trenton) Pallagi; grandchildren, Sophia, Raeleigh; siblings, Bill (Deb) Peck, Jane (Craig) Bykerk; sister-in-law, Mary Peck; many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Peck.
Memorial contributions may be made in Melode’s name to DeColores Ministries of Grand Rapids or Pierson Bible Church.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11 at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 12 at Pierson Bible Church, 101 Grand St., Pierson, MI 49339. Officiating Pastor Tom Ekkel. Interment Pierson Township Cemetery.
