Maxine J. Phillips age 81 of Cedar Springs, died Friday, January 10, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 25, 1938 in McBride, MI the daughter of Philip and Dorothy (Sharp) Miles. Maxine worked as a sewer at General Motors on Alpine Avenue for many years. She loved to sew for her children, making their clothes, quilts and even snow suits. She enjoyed gardening, cardinals and was very active. Surviving are her children, Chuck (Karen) Phillips, Brian Phillips, and Joan (Robin) Workman; grandchildren, Niki Phillips, Adam (Cali) Phillips, Alexandreia (David) Steiner, Jordan (April Marie) Phillips; great grandchildren, Carter Steiner, Emma, Emily and Israel Phillips; brother, Tom (Pat) Miles; sisters, Alice (Bud) Griffen, Phyllis Stokely, Donna Lewis and Carolyn Bigler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger. The family will meet friends Tuesday 4:00-6:00 pm at Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be held Wednesday 11:00 am at The Springs Church, 135 N. Grant St, Cedar Springs. Pastor Adam Phillips officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
