Martin J. Morris

Martin J. Morris age 67 of Bitley, MI died Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at his home. Marty was born in Grand Rapids, MI on March 1, 1954 to James and Roseann (Merlington) Morris. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his acreage in Bitley with his kids and grandkids, mushroom hunting and fishing. He helped build the 131 highway from Gaylord to the bridge. Marty worked at Northwest Kent Mechanical Company as a welder and volunteered at the Solon Township Fire Department for many years. Surviving are his children, Joseph Morris of Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Katie (John) Merlington of Morley, Holli (Mason) Burchfield of Sherwood, MI; grandchildren, Gabriella Morris, Quintin Lukauskas, Wyatt and Westin Merlington, Aidan Baker; brothers, Marshall Morris, Troy (Faye) Morris; sister, Shannon Morris; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will greet friends 4:00pm Thursday, Dec. 30 until the time of service at 5:00pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
