Marjorie Ann Nawara, (Straub), 87 of Cedar Springs, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Clark Retirement Home. Mrs. Nawara was born July 7, 1918 in Cedar Springs, MI the daughter of Oscar and Wealthy (Bohn) Egner. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 1939 and taught Kindergarten. Once she had children she devoted herself to being a stay at home mom. She was a former member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, the Ladies Altar Society and the Cedar Springs Women’s Club. She loved her family and grandchildren very much. Surviving are 4 children and their spouses, Carl & Marjorie Straub of Cedar Springs, William and Lenora Nawara of Belmont, JoAnn & Brian Ellis of Grand Rapids, John & Marilyn Nawara of Grand Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Lawrence Egner of Phoenix, AZ; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday 11:00 am at Mary Queen of Apostles Church, Sand Lake. Fr. Alberto Bondy, celebrant. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland Home.
