Marie A. Van Male

Marie A. Van Male age 80 of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. Marie was born August 3, 1939 in Sand Lake, MI the daughter of Orval and Bertha Morris. She worked for Grand Rapids Public Schools for over 20 years and enjoyed Polka music and dancing and playing cards. In retirement she and her husband spent summers at Big Whitefish Lake and winters in Venice, Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Christine VanZee, Brian Van Male, Diane Van Male (Mike); grandchildren, Nick (Sam) VanZee, Jessica (Stephen) Gren, Michael VanZee, Kirstyn Van Male, Connor Van Male; great grandchildren, Kasen, Peyten and Carter; siblings, Barb Sagorski, John Morris, Richard (Marion) Morris; sister-in-law, Joan (Ed) Bates; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; son-in-law, Charles VanZee; brother-in-law, Ed Sagorski; sister-in-law, Nancy Morris. The family will greet friends Monday from 4-7 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where a Rosary will be held at 6:30 pm. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10:30 am at Mary Queen of Apostles Church, Sand Lake. Rev. Fr. Lam Le celebrant. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
