View Photo Tribute Marie (VanDyke) Cole, 77, of Jenison, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus. Mrs. Cole was born March 19, 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of John and Winifred (VandenBrink) VanDyke. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing bingo, and traveling with her husband. She loved being surrounded by her family and spending the holidays with them. She made the best apple pie and red cake in the world. Surviving are four children, Joie Shelton of Jenison, Georgi Hall of Jenison, Robert G.,II & Shelby Cole of Cedar Springs, Chad Cole of Walker; three grandchildren, John & Jamie Hall, Joel Hall, Jordan Hall; two great grandchildren, Tristen Cole Hall and Taylor Marie Hall; two brothers, Joe & Nancy VanDyke, Donald & Winifred VanDyke; sisters-in-law, Birdie VanDyke, Barb Schondelmayer, Jane Thomas, Susan & Tim Walker; brother-in-law, James “Pen” & Shirley Cole; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son-in-law, Jim Shelton; brothers, Jacob, George, and John VanDyke; sister-in-law, Joan Hysell; brothers-in-law, Barney Schondelmayer, Al Thomas, Waldo Cole. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com where services will be held Thursday 1:00 pm. Pastor Kendall Harger officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
