Margaret R. McDonald

Margaret R. McDonald, age 72, of Rockford, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, August 17, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 10, 1953 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Norman and Eleanor (Helsel) Sjogren. Marge was a devout Christian and had been a long-time member of Algoma Baptist Church. She was very artistic and loved to paint, draw, and write poetry. Marge had a passion for music and was a talented pianist. Her mother taught her to cook and bake and she loved to share her food with family and friends. Marge was very generous, loving, kind and would help anyone in need. She was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Marge is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, John “Johnny Mac” McDonald; children, Holly (Randy) Grooters, Erik (Suzanne) Zandstra, Michelle (Mike) McCoy, Michael (Ann) McDonald, Melissa McDonald, Amy Titmus; grandchildren, Jessi, Ethan, Jada, Gage, Breanna, Abagail, Eian, Nuriel, Earen; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Noelle, Carson, Colton; siblings, Beverly Maier, Ellen (John) Allain, Jill (Johnny) Hooker, Dan (Julie) Sjogren; several nieces, nephews and treasured dogs, Shotsie, and Adeline Cosette. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will greet friends Thursday from 5-8 p.m., Thursday at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bruce Wilson officiating. Interment Algoma Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elara Caring Hospice Foundation.
