Mabel Irene Northup

Mabel Irene Northup age 101 of Sparta, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 31, 2020 surrounded by her family. Mabel was born on March 21, 1918 in Cedar Springs, MI the daughter of James and Alta (Butler) Russell. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Surviving are her four sons, Lynn (Janice), Elwin (Linda), Melvin (Mary), and Bruce (Jill) along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin; sisters, Bernice Ambrose, Eloise Petersen; brother Howard Russell; and great-granddaughter, Grace Northup. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Meadowlark Retirement Village in Sparta for their wonderful care. The family will greet relatives and friends at Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs on Tuesday, February 4 from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00 pm. Larry Carter officiating.
