Lyle L. Christensen

Lyle Leland Christensen, age 81 of Sand Lake, died Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital. He was born September 9, 1944 in Newaygo, the son of Einar and Bertha (Leonard) Christensen. Lyle honorably served his county in the United States Navy and was a member of the VFW Post 4249 in Newaygo. He was a member of Magnify Church-Ensley Campus with his wife, Kathy for seven years. Lyle enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. His real passion was helping people. He would go out of his way to help a neighbor and would ask for nothing in return. Lyle was a hard worker, a giver, and loved his afternoon naps. He will be missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Kathy; children, Debbie Sterling, Scott (Jeannie) Christensen, Steve Christensen, Rebecca (Bryan) Cook, Amanda (Matt) Jensen; grandchildren, Alicia, Hunter, Ryder (Olivia), Ben (Hallie), Sam, Summer, Annibel; great-grandchildren, Levi, Hazel, Haven; siblings, Einar Christensen, Dottie (Larry) Devries; many nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Theresa Sims; siblings, Tina (Jack) Anderson and Ellen (Paul) Craigmile.

Memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2026.
