Linda Lorraine Badgerow age 75 of Newaygo, MI passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at her home. She was born on May 26, 1948 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Kenneth and Bonnie (Aungst) Smith. Linda was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Salmon, parents, brothers, Dana Cameron Smith and Kenneth “Dale” Smith. Linda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Nana), great grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her husband, Jim Badgerow; children, Darsi (Scott) Page, D. Scott (Alice) Salmon, Kelly (Jim) Williams, April (Corey) Seibold; stepchildren, Jessica (Jordan) Atwood, Nikki (Ryan) Krikke; brothers, David Smith, Doug Smith; sisters, Ellie Hineline, Deb Bates; grandchildren, Marisa Bullard, Dennis Nuffesse, Brooke Salmon-Black, Cayla Vandermate, Kelly Salmon, Colton Williams, Trenton Williams, Jarod Salmon, Abbie Salmon, Kynnedi Williams, Amaya Rodenburg, Chance Plaisier, Annabelle Krikke, Paisleigh Krikke; eight great grandchildren; special aunt, Marilyn Cook. Linda also leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins who will miss her dearly. Linda was a graduate of Sparta High School, Class of 1966 where her popularity led her to be involved in many clubs. She participated in the Latin Club, cheerleading and gymnastics for all four years, taking on the role as captain her senior year. She was a member of the student body council and the homecoming court. She was also voted the “Penny Princess” and the “Queen of Hearts” by her peers. She had a successful career as the owner of Cedar Video Store for 16 years before working at the Solon Twp. offices, where she eventually retired. Linda enjoyed spending time at home as well as traveling with her husband, Jim. They went on many adventures together throughout their marriage. She liked playing cards and listening to music, especially when Jim would get out his guitar and sing. She loved celebrating special occasions and holidays with her family, friends and loved ones. Linda was a pillar of the community and would help anyone in need. Throughout her life, she was involved with several organizations including the Rotary Club of Michigan, Cedar Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and Cedar Springs Athletic Boosters. She was a volunteer to various local causes. The Red Flannel Festival was a favorite as she absolutely delighted in the Queen’s pageant. Her passion for life led her to many beloved roles. She is remembered as a wife, mother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. Her favorite role was that of “Nana” to her many grandchildren. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held 2:00 – 5:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2024 at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Corewell Health Hospice or to Rotary International. Please join us in remembering and celebrating the life of Linda Lorraine Badgerow. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.
