Linda C. Dejong

Linda C. DeJong age 78 of Grand Rapids, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at Faith Hospice – Trillium Woods. Linda was born April 20, 1938 in Cleveland, OH the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Basler) Clark. She graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor degree and was an avid Michigan State fan. She was a founding member of the Heritage Hill Association and worked there for a few years. She also worked at WOOD TV, WZZM TV and VALIC. Linda loved and had rescued many Dobermans, enjoyed flower gardening, reading and all things French. Surviving are her sister, Carol Hordyk; nieces, Jennifer (Brett) Terpstra, Susie Poliski, Kathy (Sam) Vriezema, Debbie (Claire) Larson; nine great nieces and nephews; special friend, Tammy Lundeen. The family will greet friends Monday, Feb. 13 from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2780 Leonard St. NE, Grand Rapids. Bishop Mark Hunsaker officiating. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Manistique, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Kent County or the Comprehensive Therapy Center.
