Leo G. Rowland

Leo G. Rowland age 89 of Sand Lake, died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Mary’s Hospital. Leo was born July 17, 1932 in Coral, MI the son of Glenn and Carrie (Durst) Rowland. He graduated in 1950 from Howard City High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Leo loved his family and family gatherings. Surviving are his wife, Cheryl; children, Laura (John) Porter, Steve (Dina) Rowland, Denise (Jeff) Heimbecker, Russell (Norma) Rowland, Scot (Lisa) Garner; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Hugh Rowland; sisters, Linda (Ed) Hansen, Nancy (Bob) Bowers; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amy; 1 brother and 2 sisters. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday 11:00 am at Mary Queen of Apostles Church, Sand Lake. Rev. Fr. Lam Le celebrant. Interment Crandall Cemetery, Ensley Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the charity of donor’s choice.
