Lee Washburn, 57 of Cedar Springs, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Lee was born August 26, 1951 in Lansing, MI the son of Mason G. and Virginia V. (Snyder) Washburn. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and worked in Civil Service for the U.S. Government for the past 36 years. Lee was a member of the Sand Lake VFW and attended Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Rockford. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; 2 daughters, Angela Jean (Andrew) Thompson of Cedar Springs, Lacey Chevette (Anthony) Morlan of Rochester, MN; stepdaughter, Lois (Randy) Brennan of Big Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Alexandra, LeAnne, Jayde, and Jeremiah; 3 sisters, Joyce (Robert) Anderson of San Diego, CA, Kaye Randall of Ionia, Charlene (Donald) Ryckman of Lansing; 1 brother, Charles (Sandra) Washburn of Bannister. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan P. (Gullo) Washburn and his parents. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Monday 11:00 am. Pastor Tim Gauger officiating. Interment Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta at 2:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or Great Lakes Hospice.
