Laura Ann Smith, age 81, died November 12, 2022 in Cedar Springs after many years of nursing care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Smith; father, Carl Munson; mother, Udella Munson Murray; and sister, Linda Loughmiller. Laura enjoyed her life, especially after meeting her husband Bill at a Little People’s Convention. At family gatherings she was the one with the camera, seeking everyone out for a smile. She loved collecting stamps and miniature toys and saxophone music (Bill played the saxophone). Because she stood closer to the ground than some, Laura commented that she paid more attention to what was below her feet and found many “treasures” on her long walks. After earning her bachelor’s degree, Laura worked as a lab technician for the state of Michigan. Then, during retirement, she and Bill bought a motor home and drove to many adventures. Laura is survived by her beloved Aunt Ariadne Winquist, her loving advocate for many years, and by nephews, cousins, and long-time friends. She was a loyal and mischievous friend, and she will be remembered and missed. A small graveside ceremony is planned for the spring. No flowers, please. Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
