Laura Ann “Meme” (Ryno) Cotten age 80 of Howard City, died Thursday, January 1, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 21, 1945 in Howard City, the daughter of the late Don and Laura (Olsen) Ryno. Laura grew up on a farm in Howard City where she learned how to work hard. She was proud to work at Wolverine World Wide for 45 years. Laura enjoyed listening to country music, crafting, painting and traveling. She had a passion for baking cakes for family and a delicious brownie recipe. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she cherished the time she could spend with them. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her children, Tammy (Bill) Bazan, Michele (Ed) Peterson; grandchildren, Derek (Carrie) Snyder, Dakota Snyder, Michael (Katie) Peterson, Todd Peterson; great-grandchildren, Dean and Dylan Snyder, Xander and Harper Peterson; special niece, Karen Hunt; and many nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd “Monk” Cotten and Eugene Krosing; children, Michael and Teresa Cotten; sisters, Marguerite Hunt, Freda Barnum; and special aunt, Mabel Olsen.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7 at Heritage United Methodist Church in Pierson with visitation at 1:00 p.m. Officiating, Pastor Terri Cummins. Interment, Reynolds Township Cemetery.
