Larry J. Carlon 58 of Cedar Springs, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. Larry was born October 5, 1948 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Clarence and Wilma (Veenstra) Carlon. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War and had retired from Consumers Energy as a supervisor in 2005 after 34 years of service. Larry was an all around good guy and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Linda (Barber); 2 daughters, Kathleen Carlon, Lisa & Aaron Anderson; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Caitlin, Hannah; parents, Clarence & Wilma Carlon; 1 sister, Linda Carlon; 2 brothers, Richard & Shirley Carlon, David Carlon; mother-in-law, Jane Barber; sisters-in-law, Kate & Murphy Musick, Paula & Dave Allington, Julie & Ed Ludtke; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Harold Barber. The family will greet friends Monday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com where a memorial service will be held Tuesday 11:00 am. Pastor Herb Vander Bilt officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Springs Library or the American Heart Association.
