Keri Ann Woodard

Keri Ann Woodard, age 50, daughter of Brenton and Virginia Woodard, bravely won her 8 month battle with head and neck cancer on Friday, September 27, 2018. She faced this challenge with a positivity and attitude that was beyond extraordinary. She never succumbed to negativity and for this reason she won. She was home with family and her most loved dogs. Keri was reunited with her father, Brenton Woodard, in heaven and we take comfort knowing that this was a joyous reunion.  Keri graduated from Grant High School in 1986. During her time at Grant Public Schools she found her best friends for life; Traci (Higgins) Ross, Diana (Mansfield) Walcott, and Robi (Wolff) Anderson.  Through thick and thin these girls supported one another. Keri was grateful for all of the adventures and especially their efforts to make her wish of visiting Lake Michigan one more time happen. Keri and her family would like to thank the many members of the Spectrum and Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion that she met during this journey. Special thanks to Dr. Wan, Dr. O’Toole and Dr. Laura as well as the Spectrum 5 South oncology nurses and nurse techs who not only put up with her sarcasm and wit but made her feel like a person/friend and not just a patient. Keri is survived by many loving family members; mother, Virginia Woodard; brothers, Harvey (Robin) Woodard Sr., Brad (Terry) Woodard, Bruce (Tammy) Woodard, George (Hydie) Woodard; sister, Jeri (Dennis) Graham; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, Wesley (Jill) Woodard and their children, Jordyn and Morgan; Harvey Woodard Jr. and his children, Mason and Madalyn; JoLee (Aaron) Swaney and their son Oliver; Dennis (Nina) Graham and their children, Hailey, Logan, and Carter; Kristy Fischer and her children, Tyler and Cameron;  Kimberly (Brian) Woodard; Scott (Whitney) Woodard and their children, Avery and Cameron; Heather (John) Proctor and his son Keegan; Nicole Woodard, Brent (Heidi) Woodard and their children, Natalie and Emma, Ashley Woodard, Jason Woodard, James Woodard, Devin Woodard, Riley Woodard, and Taylor Woodard. Keri will also be remembered by lifelong friends Lisa Minnella, Dianne Ring, Amy Upham, and Chris Zoet. Road trips north will never be the same.   A celebration of Keri’s life will take place Wednesday 2:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Visitation will be held Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
