Kenneth Veltkamp

Kenneth Veltkamp, 59 of Ensley Township, Sand Lake, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at his home. Ken was born February 13, 1948 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of William and Winifred (Worst) Veltkamp. He was a self-employed logger who enjoyed fishing, training horses, and made the best fried chicken. He was a good husband and loving father, and a friend to many. He was always willing to help anyone with a need. Surviving are his wife Susan (Fisk); 3 children, Kimberle & Jeff Christensen, Kenneth & Carrie Veltkamp, Jr., Christopher & Kym Veltkamp; 7 grandchildren, Jacob, Cassandra, Cody, Billy, Justin, Logan, Christopher Colten; brothers and sisters, Bertha & Art Boekestein, Bill & Norma Veltkamp, Clarence Veltkamp, Orie & Erma Veltkamp, Betty & Don Isenga, Jim & Karen Veltkamp, Mary & Bill Crain, Shirley & Pete Bell, June & Michael O’Connor, Winnie & Paul Veurink. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret Veltkamp; brother, Harold Veltkamp; sister-in-law, Marie Veltkamp. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Friday 11:00 am. Pastor C.J. Malone officiating. Interment Chubbuck Cemetery, Kent City. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
