Kenneth H. Powell

Kenneth H. Powell, 83 of Newaygo, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 28, 2013. Ken was born August 19, 1930 in Howard City, MI the son of Lyman and Mildred (Kellogg) Powell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing; and had retired from Powell’s Excavating. Surviving are his wife, Arlarose; children, Barb (Andy) Behrenwald, Edith (Mike) Phillips, John (Jamie) Powell, Dave (Kathy) Powell; 28 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Basil (Kay) Powell, Arlene Beebee, Gladys (John) Fredenburg, Linda (Roger) Weeks, Norma Rogers, Dale Powell, Arvin Powell; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ella (Fullerton); son, Kenneth Jr.; grandsons, Randy Behrenwald, Joshua Behrenwald; siblings, Hazel, Warren, Lester, Owen, Orville and Leona. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be held Thursday 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, Howard City. Pastors David Powell and Brian Humphreys officiating. Interment Aetna Township Cemetery, Morley. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Howard City.
