Rev. Karl E. Pike age 88 of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Beacon Hill of Eastgate. He was born October 16, 1937 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Ernest and Anna (VerBurg) Pike. Karl graduated from the Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and Bible Institute and received a Master of Ministry degree from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, WI. He faithfully served with his wife, Irene as a Pastor in six Baptist Churches in Michigan for over 50 years. He worked for 10 years to the day as Stewardship Manager for Bibles International. While serving First Baptist Church, Howard City he was the Assistant Fire Chief for 15 years. He married Irene Bronkema on June 14, 1958 and she preceded him in death on November 14, 2019. Surviving are his children, Kamilla (Dan) Boerema, Kimberly (Dale) Cederquist, Kevin (Janet) Pike, Kelly (Tom) Grifhorst, Kraig (Rachel) Pike, Katrina (Chris) DeMan; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brother, Jon (Marilyn) Pike; sister, Lori (Mike) Schutter. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce and Philip. The family will greet friends Wednesday, July 29 from 5 – 7 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be held Thursday, July 30 at 11:00 am at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Avenue, SE, Grand Rapids with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. His grandson, Pastor Brian Cederquist officiating. Family interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Alpine Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Bibles International or the Beacon Hill Foundation.
