Karl L. Hardenburgh 84 of Pierson, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Karl was born March 21, 1927 in Mecosta, MI the son of Carl and Ann (Smith) Hardenburgh. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He was a mechanic for Oven Fresh Bakery retiring in 1987 and a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, racing cars and was an avid country music fan. Surviving are his children, Michael & Linda Hardenburgh of Cedar Springs, Richard Hardenburgh & Carol Messner of Lake Ann, Nancy & Greg Howard of Pierson, James & Cherryl Hardenburgh of Howard City, Connie Lynnes of Howard City; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ernest & Barbara Dell; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgine in 2003, 2 brothers and 1 sister. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Tuesday 11:00 am. Pastor Herb VanderBilt officiating. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Michigan Veterans Homes.
