Kandy Joy Roemer age 80 of Sand Lake, died Thursday, April 30, 2026 at University of Michigan Health – West. She was born on January 5, 1946 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Joyce (Flint) Stevens. Kandy was a member of the Sand Lake Lion’s Club since the 1980’s. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Kandy always kept the house neat and was prepared to care for anyone who walked through the door. She cleaned many houses over the years and enjoyed the relationships she fostered through her work. Kandy loved to go to garage sales, craft shows and tend to her flower garden. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Kandy is survived by her children, Terri (Tim) O’Neill, Renee (Chuck) Keil, Karla (Barb) Page; granddaughter, Karly Perkins; great-grandson, Jaxon; siblings, Ben Stevens, Linda Stevens, Chris Fillman; sisters-in-law, Janet and Ruth Roemer; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Roemer, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made in Kandy’s name to Community Christian Reformed Church, 150 Burt Ave. SE, Wyoming, MI 49548.
The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday May 8 at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Officiating, Pastor Dave Struyk. Private interment, Pierson Cemetery.
