Joycelyn “Joy” Brancheau, 76 of Cedar Springs, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Laurels of Kent, Lowell. Joy was born May 10, 1930 in Houghton Lake, MI the daughter of Homer and Loretta (Moore) Allen. She was a member of Algoma Baptist Church, enjoyed traveling, especially Florida and soaking up the sun, color tours and watching the seasons change. She collected Koala Bears and thimbles. Her family was very important to her and she was a very good mother. As a Christian, she always kept her chin up and even through her illness, it did not cause her to lose her faith. Surviving are her children, Rene` & Ron Bravata of Rockford, Troy & Tammy Brancheau of Republic, MI, Chad Brancheau and his fiancée, Tanya of Kent City; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 2 sisters-in-law, Nellie & Bob Karmol of Belmont, Dorothy LaFave of Bay City. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Tuesday 11:00 am at Algoma Baptist Church. Pastor David C. Fernlund officiating. Interment Solon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
