Josephine F. Cederquist

Josephine F. Cederquist, 85 of Shelby, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Greenville. Her family stood by her bed as she left this earth and entered heaven. When asked last week what she was most thankful for, she said her salvation. Now she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Mrs. Cederquist was born August 6, 1929 in Rothbury, MI the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Hain) Misek. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, playing the accordion, crocheting, fishing, and reading her Bible every day. She attended Shelby Road Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Theresa Larson of Trufant, Norma Miller of Stanton, Karen Hoisington of Greenville, Dale (Kimberly) Cederquist of Grand Rapids, Shirley (Rick) Snow of Greenville, Paul Cederquist of South Carolina; 18 grandchildren, Jody (Troy) Small, Chad Larson, Shannon (Wayne) Cooley, David, Gretchen Miller, Jamie Hoisington, Jenny (Roy) Knickerbocker, Brian (Jenni), David (Mindy) Cederquist, Carrie (Jonathan) Moe, Matt (Megan), Brad (Kristen) Gerred, Joseph (Kari) Snow, Stephanie, Randy (Emily), Joshua, Eric, Kevin, Jessica Cederquist; 23 great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Misek; sisters-in-law, Mary Misek, Ruth Cederquist; brother-in-law, Neil Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan in 2008, five sisters and one brother. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 am at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Avenue SE, Grand Rapids with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Pastors Brian and David Cederquist officiating. Interment in the Spring at Hart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to 20/20 Vision Building Fund at Good News Baptist Church.
