John W. Richer

John W. Richer age 74 of Cedar Springs went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, November 21, 2021. John was born September 15, 1947 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of William and Peg (Phenix) Richer. He served in the U.S. Army 4th Infantry, Charlie Company in the Central Highlands of Vietnam from 1967-68. He received the Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was very active in Resonate Church, Newaygo and enjoyed his Men’s Bible Study. Surviving are his wife, Rosalee; sisters, Denise (Wayne) Slooter, Beverly Richer; nieces and nephew, Holly Jones, Travis Slooter, Chelsea (Rob) Jackson. He was also a loving step father and step grandfather. The family will greet friends Wednesday, Nov. 24 from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Eric Harvey officiating. Military honors by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Private interment Solon Township Cemetery.
