John A. Paulen

John A. Paulen age 93 of Pierson died Monday, February 5, 2024 at his home. He was born January 12, 1931 in Pierson, MI the son of George and Hazel (Hackbardt) Paulen. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired from the Grand Rapids Press. He farmed all of his life. He served on the Tri-County School Board, many years as President. John and his wife, Vera were very adventurous and enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing all over the country. They built a home in Colorado and enjoyed many years there. Surviving are his wife, Vera (Barendreght), who he married on August 25, 1955; daughters, Diane Rose, Terry (Scott) Miller; grandchildren, Kyle, Camron and Donielle; great grandchildren, Ellyanna and Zeke. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Pratt. A graveside service will be held Wednesday 3:00 pm at Hillside Cemetery, Grant. Pastor Chuck Steiner officiating. Arrangements by K.E.
