John L.“Jack” Wyatt 91, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at Holland Home – Raybrook Manor. Mr. Wyatt was a longtime resident of Naples, FL and formerly of Rockford and Traverse City. He was born September 25, 1924 in Benzie County, MI the son of Marshall and Geneva (Henry) Wyatt. He was a proud and involved member of many Catholic parishes, including Our Lady of Consolation Church, Rockford and St. Peter the Apostle, Naples, FL. His strong faith was the foundation for a life well lived. He served his country in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers during World War II. He had a superb work ethic and an immense love for his family. Surviving are his children, Jean (Jim) Hessler, Ruth (Les) Knoll, James Wyatt, Ann (Ernie) Volk, Paul (Mimi) Wyatt; 10 grandchildren, Carl (Jessica) Hessler, Kate (Bryan) McKellar, Maria (Matt) Andrakowicz, Andrew (Chelsea) Volk, Daniel (Anabel) Volk, Paul (Kristen) Volk, Hollis, Jack, Peter and Charlie Wyatt; 9 great grandchildren, Aaron and Evan Hessler, Rylee, Travis and Tyson McKellar, Jaden, Daniel and Marissa Andrakowicz, Audrey Volk, and a new baby boy to arrive in July; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence in 2014, 5 brothers and 1 sister. The family will greet friends Sunday, May 22 from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 23 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Consolation Church, Rockford, with Rev. Fr. Tony Russo presiding. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment Rockford Cemetery.
