John A. Fitzgerald

View Photo Tribute John A. Fitzgerald, 52, of Pierson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at his home. John was born October 25, 1955 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Stanley and Barbara (Gates) Fitzgerald. He was a graduate of Cedar Springs High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Allied Waste. John’s priorities were loving God and his family. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and was a faithful friend. He also enjoyed his Softtail Harley and was an avid Detroit Lions fan. Surviving are his wife, Maxine (Coger); 5 children, Mitchell Fitzgerald of Fenwick, Christine (Shannon) Daws of West Virginia, Jay Corbin, Jr. of Pierson, Brandy (Lindsey) Franklin of Texas, Candida (Carlos) Montalvo of Ada; 5 grandchildren, Ashlea, Avery, Abbie, Gabrielle, and Madeline; and 1 sister, Shannon Wiersum. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home in Cedar Springs, where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am. Pastor Tom Hansen officiating. Interment will be at Sand Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Greenville Community Church and to the Hospice of Michigan.
