John Dejager

John DeJager age 79 of Cedar Springs, formerly of Grant, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 5, 2022. Mr. DeJager was born June 18, 1943 in Oppenheisen, Netherlands the son of Robert and Theresa DeJager. He served in the U.S. Marines for six years during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Pine Grove Community Church in Howard City where he volunteered in many areas. He also volunteered at LOVE Inc. He enjoyed flowers and birds and wintering in Florida and Arizona. He was a good Christian man and a wonderful husband and father. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Helen (Geers); children, Timothy DeJager, Tamara (Daniel) Evans; daughter-in-law, Cami DeJager; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret (John) Ambrosius, Ida (Lynn) Nelson, Beatrix (Jerry) Balmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jonathon Scott DeJager. The family will greet friends Friday, Sept. 9 from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm at Pine Grove Community Church, 8775 88th St. Howard City. Pastor Jeremy Scripps officiating.
