John “Dick” Carpenter age 77 of Cedar Springs, MI was called to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 19, 2022. A loving husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family. Dick and his wife Adrianne “Andee” celebrated 53 years together in October. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Brian (Sonia) Carpenter, Laura (Jim) Nozal; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Kelly, Barbara Jo Carriere, Kaitlyn (Jake) Ramey, Stephanie Nozal, Megan Nozal and her fiancé, Kaleb Ehrke, Leah Carpenter and Rebecca Davis; six great grandchildren, Chase, Kyler, Mckenna, Alice, Lannan and Eli; sister, Valerie Carpenter Becerra; brother, Robert (Susan) Carpenter; brothers-in-law, Charles (Laurie) Snedeker, Marvin (Dawn) Snedeker; sisters-in-law, Mary Carpenter and Carol Carpenter; many nieces and nephews; dear friends and special neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Myrtice (Dixon) Carpenter; brothers, Larry Carpenter and Ted Carpenter; sister-in-law, Marjorie Winkle. Dick was one of those guys that could fix anything. He had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone who needed a helping hand. He spent many years in the automobile industry and also numerous years working in the manufactured housing industry. Over the years his love for his animals was obvious. He loved the outdoors and took great pride in his yard and flower gardens. We would like to thank Spectrum Health (Greenville) and Faith Hospice for his care and their compassion. Per his request cremation will be handled by K.E. Pike Funeral Home in Cedar Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kent County Animal Shelter, 740 Fuller NE, Grand Rapids MI 49503. A celebration of Dick’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
