John H. Burtt

John H. Burtt age 81 of Pierson, died Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital. He was born February 5, 1945 in Grand Rapids, the son of the late Henry and Ellen (McKay) Burtt. He was a teacher at Wyoming Public school for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. John enjoyed traveling, their cottage and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, John Burtt and Janice Burtt; grandchildren, Jack Fookes and Tess Fookes; sisters, Valerie Ericksen, Maxine Lahay; brother-in-law, Joseph Jingles; several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Burtt, infant daughter, Mary in 1968; siblings, Frank Burtt and Janice Stephens.

Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to Corewell Health Hospice.

The family will greet friends Wednesday, May 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Private interment will take place at Blythefield Memory Gardens, Belmont.
