Joe J. Walker

Joe J. Walker, 78 of Rockford, died Monday, October 29, 2012 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Mr. Walker was born March 14, 1934 in Winfield, TN the son of Homer and Elsie (Bray) Walker. He worked for the CSX Railroad for 40 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Masons, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping and gardening. Surviving are his wife, Fay; 2 children, Randy Walker, Kim (Bob) Orr; daughter-in-law, Becki Walker; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Homer “Pete” (Darra) Walker; sister, Ruth Gilbert. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steve Walker; brother, Gene Walker. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Interment Rockford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
