Jim R. Frey

Jim R. Frey age 80 of Sand Lake died Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at his home. Jim was born November 3, 1939 in Sand Lake, MI the son of Harry and Blanche (Verburg) Frey. He was a dairy farmer. Raising a huge garden, Jim enjoyed giving the produce away. Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved the Lord and kept his sense of humor to the end. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He and his wife always attended their grandchildren’s events at school. Surviving are his wife, Sharon; children, Alan (Jackie) Frey, Keith (Cindy) Frey, Kimberly (Tim) Pieper, Terry (Tim) Frey, Renee (Tom Jr.) Pieper; 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Misner, Maxine Miller; brother, Robert Frey; brother-in-law, Ray (Donna) VanIddeking; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Martin and Geraldine VanIddeking; sister, Dorothy Jean Smith; brothers, Donald, John, Richard and William Frey. The family will greet friends Monday from 4-7 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be Tuesday 11:00 am at South Ensley United Methodist Church. Pastor Daryl Miller officiating. Private interment Crandall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
