Jill A. Fennessy

Jill A. Fennessy age 72 of Sand Lake passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, August 17, 2026. She was diagnosed with cancer just two months ago. She was born June 15, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of Edward and Jean (Swan) Henry.

She grew up riding horses and equestrian competitions and loved animals. Jill was a registered nurse and retired from Spectrum Health Emergency Room in 2020. She was dedicated to public education and served 15 years on the Tri County School Board with 14 years as president. She also served on the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Board of Directors and was a past president. Jill was an amazing mom and grandma and always made home feel like home. She enjoyed baking and cooking and was a warm, kind person.

Surviving are her husband, Dan; sons, Alec (Claire) Wilson, Jon Wilson; stepsons, Josh Fennessy, Jahn (Kati) Fennessy; grandchildren, Miles, Aubrey, Zak, Hudson and Beckett. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will greet friends Saturday, August 22 from 5 -7 pm and Sunday, August 23 from 2 – 4 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. There will not be a formal service.
