Jerry A. Lawson

Jerry Arthur Lawson, 71 of Ensley Township, Sand Lake passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023. He was born December 5, 1951 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Ben and Barbara (Sammons) Lawson. Jerry served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War and talked often about his time in the service. He worked 30 years for the Grand Rapids Home for the Veterans, the last 12 years as a wheelchair maintenance tech. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, camping and cooking for family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Pamela Joy; daughters, Tammy (Todd) Springfield, Melissa (Russell) Knapp; grandkids, Tyler, Toni Jo, Nicki, Nathan; four great grandkids; sisters, Sheila, Kathy, Patty, Jody, Kelly; brother, Mark. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike, John, twin brother, Dean and sisters, Linda and Wendy. The family will greet friends Friday, March 31 from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Military honors by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will take place later at Crandall Cemetery, Ensley Township.
