Gerald Max “Jerry” Hall age 75 of Cedar Springs died Monday, March 25, 2024 at Mission Point of Cedar Springs. He was born October 20, 1948 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Junior and Lorraine (Paepke) Hall. He graduated from Cedar Springs High School in 1966, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the Army National Guard. He worked for the City of Cedar Springs for 33 years retiring as Director of Public Works in 2010. Jerry was very involved in the city of Cedar Springs government quietly working behind the scenes to make Cedar Springs a community. He served on the city council, mayor, planning commission, DDA, fire department and the Cedar Springs Public School Board. He was a member of Cedar Springs Rotary and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He taught hunter safety for many years at the Red Flannel Rod & Gun Club and was a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. Jerry was one of the top 100 sharpshooters in the United States. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Amy Jo; children, Carrie Kukla, Kristiann (Keith) Priest, Jeremiah (Maria) Hall; step daughters, Carrie Fisher, Laura Rapa; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Trudy) Hall, Randy (Kjersti) Hall; many friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kay Sosnowski. The family will greet friends Friday, March 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Saturday 11:00 am. Bea Hesley officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs.
