Jerry P. Dejong

Jerry P. DeJong age 97 of Ensley Center, Sand Lake, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Northview Manor. Mr. DeJong was born March 3, 1915 in Douglas County, SD the son of Jerry and Dennie (Wieten) DeJong. He was a farmer and had also worked at Osterink Construction. He was a member of Ensley Baptist Church. Surviving are his children, Sandra (Rod) Smith of Little Rock, AR, Carol (John) George of Grand Rapids, Gary (Nancy) DeJong of Sand Lake; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Pearl Schultz of Springfield, SD; sisters-in-law, Shirley DeJong, Jessie DeJong, Ursa Ainsworth, Leona Perry; brothers-in-law, Duane Hubregtse, Russell Perry; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia in 2001; 11 brothers and sisters, an infant daughter, Janice. Private family services will be held Saturday with burial in North Ensley Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held in the spring at Ensley Baptist Church and will be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Ensley Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
