Jerome E. Heiss Sr.

Jerome "Jerry" E. Heiss Sr. age 83 of Grand Haven died Monday, July 12, 2021 at his home. He was born September 25, 1937 in Sparta, MI the son of Elbert and Josephine (Carrier) Heiss. Jerome worked at the Spartan Warehouse for 30 years. He loved hunting and fishing and was a fabulous welder who could make and fix anything. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce (VanSplinter) Heiss of Grand Haven; children, Calesta (Edward) Procko of Ravenna, Kimberly (Timothy) Flynn of Grand Haven, Jerome Jr. (Vida) Heiss of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Bradley (Laura) Procko, Kortney (Joseph) Dresen, Daniel Procko (Tosha Conley), Jason (Ayla) Flynn, LaRae Mansel, Melissa Flynn (Marty Livingston), Tabbi Manzel, McKenzie (Kody) Roberts; great grandchildren, Chloee, Riley, Brooklyn, Aubree, Richard, Boen, Abel, Kennedy, Jayce, Autumn, Kiley, Hudson, Ava, Kooper with two more on the way; sisters, Linda Van Slyke, Sandy (Bill) Taylor; brothers-in-law, Rodney Whitney, Keith VanSplinter, Jack VanSplinter, Rick VanSplinter. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jeffery Scott Heiss and grandson, James Flynn. The family will greet friends Friday, July 16 from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home Cedar Springs where the service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am. Pastor Chuck Smith officiating.
